ToucanEd Inc. - An Overview
What?
I've been working with ToucanEd since 2002 as webmaster, graphic designer, illustrator, Cd-ROM developer, and page layout designer, and even some IT work. You can say I'm a Jack of all trades when I'm hard at work for this health education, emergency management publishing company.
Why?
This website get the most updates out of any website I work on, there's always new products to be sold and updates to existing pages. There's password protected areas and email blasts that need to be done to keep our market aware of all the new products and training available.
How?
All hand coded, using CSS, SSI, Javascript, CGI Scripts, a little bit of Flash, and strict HTML. All graphics were done with PhotoShop, ImageReady, and Illustrator.

Pat Owen Woodworks - An Overview
What?
This was a pretty quick two page website for a local wood crafter. The home page pretty says it all with gallery images, that when you scroll over a small image, it replaces the larger image in the main frame using some neat javascript. I think it worked really well.
Why?
When I got this job, all I got to work with was a CD-ROM containing 10 high resolution images, no direction, and no copy. It had to be produced in about one week, including a printed mailing card for a Art Studio Tour that was beginnig the following week, so you could say I was given free reigns of the project. I did have to finally get a bio about the artist for a second page, and I finished this project up in record time!
How?
All hand coded, using CSS, Javascript, and strict HTML. Some photo manipulation and resizeing using PhotoShop.

Indigo Interprises - An Overview
What?
This website was created for a friend who's practice uses the quantum biofeedback technology, an energetic balancing technology to help others towards healthier lifestyle and well-being. So it had to have a enlightening, uplifting look and feel.
Why?
I utilized PHP by writing my own code so that the page you were on, the navigation button would appear to be part of that page. I'm sure there are other ways of doing this, but it was a fun challenge to accomplish.
How?
All hand coded, using CSS, PHP strict HTML. All graphics were done with PhotoShop, ImageReady, and Illustrator.

R2E2 Research and Evaluation - An Overview
What?
This website was created for a Research and Evaulation team. I was limited to very little time and money to crate this website, so I focused on the look and feel of the frame and icons to be the main focus of the design. It's a pretty straight forward website, and I really like the roll over icons... simple, yet fun.
Why?
This website was all content, no images aside from two staff photos. Even after reading some of the content, it seemed pretty dry and there wasn't much I could work with. After two design comps, they choose this one and I finished it up within a couple days.
How?
All hand coded, using CSS, SSI, and strict HTML. All graphics were done with PhotoShop, ImageReady, and Illustrator.

Erika Tauriello Catering - An Overview
What?
I created this website for my wife, Erika. This website (also know as 2hot4kitty.com) is the most updated website that I work on. Every month, she creates a new menu that is updated on the website, as well as creating a checklist in PDF format for her clients to download, print out, fillout, and handed back to her.
Why?
This website started the format of most of my web projects, but this site includes a few extra bells and whistles. There is a hit counter at the bottom of each page, a “page for print” feature, a “guestbook forum”, images that rotate each time a user logs on, and even daily kitchen tips page that rotates through different tips each time the page is visited.
How?
All hand coded, using CSS, SSI, CGI Scripts, and strict HTML. There's even a cute Flash™ animation to be found in there, that explains “What Exactly is 2Hot4Kitty Anyway?”

Karin Phoenix Band - An Overview
What?
This website was created for local entertainers who play events ranging from a romantic wedding ceremony to a rollicking swing party. When the setting is formal, the band wears tuxedos and Karin, a sequined dress. They dress in theme costumes when appropriate, from Country to ’40s swing.
Why?
While working with ToucanEd Publishing company, this job fell into my lap and I was more than happy to apply my pre-existing web layout plan with well written marketing copy and stimulating art, provided by ToucanEd’s art and editoral deptartments.
How?
All hand coded, using CSS, SSI, CGI Scripts, and strict HTML.

Lisa On Bass - An Overview
What?
This website was created for a fellow BlueGrass music enthusiast. Lisa wanted to create a website that focused mainly on her friendly personality as well as her bass playing and comradery with fellow musicians.
Why?
Lisa approched me at a Folk/Blues show and asked for a simple, straight-to-the-point “calling-card” website that featured some of her recordings, biography, venues to where you can see her play, and some of the bands she regularly plays with. I was able to produce this in a couple of days, with very little changes from Lisa.
How?
All hand coded, using CSS, SSI, CGI Scripts, mpeg music play back, and strict HTML.

Step-N-Smartly - An Overview
What?
This website is actually not a website, it's an auto-starting CD-ROM. As you will see here, it easily adaptes to online websites also. I applied my pre-existing web layout plan and burned it onto a CD-ROM for distribution within a printed lessons binder. I also created a Macromedia Flash™ marketing animation for this CD_ROM that is played during trade shows.
Why?
Step-n-Smartly is an Internet-based health curriculum designed to increase the physical activity of students in Grades 3-5. Using an interactive Website created by GeekTeam.com, classes take part in a virtual “race” across their state based on the number of miles they walk each week. Teachers download relevant lessons on state history, geography, literature, and other curriculum areas (such as math, science, and visual arts). Lesson content is determined by state learning objectives and is grade specific. Every lesson also includes a health or physical activity integration, with a focus on skills such as decision making, goal setting, and analyzing influences.
How?
All hand coded, using CSS, SSI, CGI Scripts, HTML and Macromedia Flash™ Animation. All content provided and © by ToucanEd Publishing and Premiere Marketing.

Health Education Awards - An Overview
What?
Using a “sliced-image” technique on the opening page, I made what otherwise would be a rather dry website, into a visually stimulating layout. That, with a easy to follow navigation made this a very successful website.
Why?
The Health Awards site from the American Association of Health Educators (AAHE) for health education students and/or professionals who are academically talented, dedicated to the field, with proven leadership potential. AAHE offers financial assistance for Undergraduate scholarships, Master level fellowships and Doctoral level awards.
How?
Used Adobe ImageReady® “sliced-images” for opening page, the rest of the site is hand coded, using HTML CSS, and SSI. All content provided and © by ToucanEd Publishing and American Association of Health Educators (AAHE).
